Winery

Tradition

We, Otmar, Daniela, Lukas and Christina, run the winery in the fourth generation – with the same commitment and passion the great-grandparents of the present wine-grower have done more than 100 years ago.

Our philosophy

The highest priority of our family-winery is to produce high-quality grapes and hence to press excellent wines. The pleasure of drinking distinguished wine in the middle of the vineyards is supplemented by our guest house where you can experience the region of South Styria (“Südsteiermark”) as a unique holiday- and recovery destination.

Grapes

Two temperate zones converge in the southern area of Styria. The Pannonian climate brings warmth from the East while the illyric climate is responsible for cool and humid air from the West. Both harmonize in a perfect way due to the fact that warm air nurtures the growth and the maturity of the vine. The cool air provides for the distinctive flavour and the typical fresh tartatic acid of South-Styrian wines.

Vinification

With complete dedication and the knowledge of former generations we use the grapes and produce wine which should please both the customers and ourselves. It is our secret how we achieve to get out the maximum taste or our grapes - but there is one thing we can reveal: The most important thing for wine is a steady and long maturity.

Classic White Wines

Fruity wines, easy to drink, with a fresh and convenient tartaric acid

DAC

DAC means “Districtus Austriae Controllatus“. Wine abbreviated with DAC stands for wine of high quality which is typical for a region. In our area the DAC-label indicates the unique characteristic of the variety of South Styrian wines.

Ried Kranachberg

The south oriented vineyards of our winery are placed in the reed of “Kranachberg”. The sandy ground forms the reed and is responsible for the mineral and aromatic note of the wine. The sandy bottom causes the vine to grow smoothly. For that reason unique and complex flavours emerge in the berries of the grapes.
